Debby’s
photography experience began in 1978 with CPI Corporation where, as a
District Manager, she oversaw operations for 30 portrait studios in a
four state area.
After graduating from Southwest Missouri State University in 1988 with
a degree in photography, she focused on developing her craft for the
next year while using her talents doing free lance photography work.
In 1989, she took a position with Mignard Studios, an upscale portrait
studio in Springfield, Missouri. In this position, she received
substantial training and experience from working along side seasoned
portraiture professionals. During her tenure there, she chose to
specialize in fine portraiture, wedding and special event photography.
She has received certification through the Professional Photographers
Association where, for the past 12 years, she has received
professional training to sharpen her skills and develop her own
personal photography style.
In 2001, she chose to venture out on her own and Debby Young
Photography was begun. This career move, in which she chose to
specialize in wedding and family portraiture, has become a highly
successful venture. Within two years, through featured work in 417
Magazine and word-of-mouth referrals, Debby has gained a reputation
as the premier wedding photographer in Southwest Missouri.
Debby understands the importance of staying up-to-date with today’s
ever changing visual media environment and unique photo requests.
Even with 25 years experience, she continues to stretch her abilities
while challenging herself to maintain the quality craftsmanship that
her reputation was built on and her clientele demands.
